WHY US

The College initially started merely as separate Girls Wing of the Govt. P.G. College, Narnaul.. The need of a separate women degree college was realized because most of the parents particularly from the rural region were not willing to allow their daughters to study in Co-educational Institution. The percentage of girl students in Arts & Commerce in the Co-educational Govt. College, Narnaul was hardly 5%. Keeping in view the national objective of augmenting Women education and creating creative and intellectual awaking among the young girls, the girls wing was upgraded and given the status of an independent Govt. College for Women, on 27.7.1988.  The Haryana Govt. granted 100% concession in tuition fees to all girls irrespective of economics or other status. It had the desired result and the number of girl students in the college began to rise every year. In 1988 it was hardly 250, but now it has outgrown its present attire and has risen to 3000. Thus the college, that caters to the educational needs of the girls of about 60 nearly villages has been playing a significant and constructive role with the aims of spreading higher education among women folk creating better and more civilized citizens and awakening the young girls to their rights and duties. The note worthy feature of the college is that more than 70% of the girls students commute daily by bus etc. from the villages situated within a radius of 320K.M.s. Thus the college has been contributing a lot in spreading rural-women n education since its establishment.
